MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russia will further examine the US decision to suspend and then to limit issuing of visas to Russian nationals, but it will not create difficulties for US nationals trying to obtain a visa for Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Monday.

Earlier in the day the US embassy announced that non-immigrant visa processing would be suspended on Wednesday, August 23. The embassy said Moscow’s requirement to cut its staff to 455 diplomats and technical personnel would also affect “the scheduling of a limited number of immigrant visa applications.”

“I just familiarized myself with this decision, only saw its summary in media reports. Therefore of course, we shall examine it additionally,”

Lavrov told a press conference.

According to the minister, Russia’s response measures will depend on the further examination of the US decision.

“We’ll see, I can say one thing, we will not take it out on the US citizens. If someone hoped that in this case a bad example will be contagious, they are wrong,”

Lavrov said.

…Russias very belated reaction to Ohbamass feindish antirussian diplomats expulsion (3 days to go over New Year with the families and theft of two Russian owned properties) prompts the US state department to punish common people with visa hassels is another pitiably poor provocation and reflects the inability of the USeless State Department with most US apparatshiks to reach standards of international law , a civil cultural level, demeanour, , diplomacy, tradition, behaviour, common decency, comportment, reason. This reveals action of psychopathic anklebiting DEGENERATI + alien sociopaths. — I pity north american People under such a perverse regime.

No, you are not totally at fault because those that endanger America are the neocons and the guys with two passports, the zionazis, that dictate american foreign policies and the proxy wars that honest americans had to and fight and of course also get killed. They don’t give a damn about the life of the GIs, they are under the skirts of their mothers nice and cuddly while the poorest of Amerika have to enrole in the army for lack of jobs . They obliged/ blackmailed Trump to reverse his electoral promises because they want a war with Iran and… Read more »

We now can read Putin and Lavrov like book. The Putin administration is very democratic and free from the idiotic western ideology. We knew that Putin would not take it out on the American people. Even though they are the ones who voted for the current and last government, we know that the government no longer follows the will of the American people. So they should not be the ones punished. The best way forward from a political lay person would be to limit the travel of US diplomats in Russia and curtail and redact what US media can report… Read more »

“…the American people. Even though they are the ones who voted for the current and last government…” . You know good and well that the sheeple will vote; even if their choices are bad choices. Write in votes are a joke and will never work. You have to achieve 7 write ins to equal one real vote in Pennsylvania (as example). Tell me where that is democratic? The electoral college is bought and paid for; the opposition bus people from one poling station to another, some Philadelphia stations reported 110% voting??? The whole thing is a sham any more. Without… Read more »

As an export manager for an anglo-italian company many years ago I was hard pressed to join an american company based in Seattle with whom I had some dealings. Remuneration levels were nearly double but I said I was not willing to eradicate my family from the lovely town I was living in (Perugia) . They proposed me that although based in Seattle I could have, by contract, one week vacation every two months and a month per year as we have in Europe . I still said no. On principle . I am not a workaholic and I dont… Read more »

I hear you! The US is a country that totally lacks a social conscience – you are on your own. You swim or you sink and nobody gives a fig. I have the feeling that with Trump as president, a lot of things are going to change and not necessarily for the better. More rough seas ahead. Saluti!

Thankful that Lavrov makes it clear that Russia knows how to be fair and balanced. When it’s the Hegemonic Psychopaths who take these actions, why should Russia tarnish it’s image with the ordinary American by making them pay. Sadly Chile, for example, failed to demonstrate the same level of adult competence. When Australia and NZ introduced the punitive “entry tax” for people going into the country, whether merely passing through, tourists or on business, Chile promptly did the same thing back to Australians and NZ’ers. . This meant that I – who as a mere “ant” in the system had… Read more »

Lavrov is always the best ! His cool approach to things that matter is a stark contrast with the bedlam reigning in the States were orders and counter orders are daily happenings .
I laugh like mad when I look at the stupid behaviour of those puppets that have to obey the neocoms, the zionazis, the banksters, the msm . But who is in charge Amerikkka ?
