Many Russians heroically wait all year for the short, but radiant summer which is their reward for making it through the long winter.
I have a friend from Krasnoyarsk, Siberia. She has relocated a long time ago, and now she lives on the Adriatic cost, in sunny Montenegro.
Yesterday, when on the phone to her father (who stayed in Krasnoyarsk) she was about to complain about the weather, he said:
You know, it’s pretty chilly down here today. Minus 42, baby!
My friend thought plus 6 Celsius outside and a little rain wasn’t such a big deal after all.
