German Chancellor Angela Merkel has penned an article in Japan’s Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper published ahead of the G7 summit due on June 7-8 in Castle Elmau in the Bavarian Alps.

In the article the German Chancellor names the major threats that the global community is facing as Russia, ISIS, and Ebola. Sounds kind of like what her boss in Washington, Mr. Obama cited as his three threats a while back.

Specifically here is what Merkel wrote…

“Who would have believed it possible, 25 years on from the end of the Cold War, that the European peace order would be cast into doubt by the annexation of the Crimea? Or that the spread of the Ebola virus might destabilize several African states and set their development back? Or that in the Middle East an Islamist terrorist organization would be trying to establish a so-called caliphate in the territory of two states?”

“These examples – all of which are on the agenda for our summit – already suffice to show that global challenges require international responses.”

It seems however that Merkel made a few mistakes in here article…

“Who would have believed it possible, 25 years on from the end of the Cold War, that the Global peace order would be cast into doubt by Germany pushing for the break up of Yugoslavia, NATO bombing Serbia, redrawing borders in Kosovo, and a US/EU coup in Ukraine?  Or that the spread of European neo-colonialism and western regime change policy would tear apart Libya and destabilise several other African states and set their development back? Or that in the Middle East a CIA funded shadow operation to overthrow democratically elected Syrian President Assad would result in the creation of an Islamist terrorist organization that would be trying to establish a so-called caliphate in the territory of two states?”

“These examples – all of which are on the agenda for our summit – already suffice to show that global challenges require international responses.”

There you go Chancellor Merkel…we fixed it up for you. Feel free to re-publish.
