MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The increase in oil reserves in Russia in January-September 2017 amounted to 630 million metric tons, while gas reserves grew by 1.35 trillion cubic meters in the same period, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Sergei Donskoi said Wednesday.

“As for oil, we have already exceeded the volume of production of the previous year – and have already added 630 [million tons] in the nine months. As for gas, we also have an excess of last year’s production level – by 1,35 trillion [cubic meters],”

Donskoi told reporters.

In 2016, Russia produced 547.5 million tonnes of oil and 640 billion cubic meter of natural gas, according to government statistics.
